Pedigree sort
Can we get it so theres an option to sort by last birthed ? IE newest cats to oldest inc boxs? That would help those of us with HUGE catterys and boxs. Or an option to auto turn on links for ALL cats so we dont have to click and sort through every cat?

RE: Pedigree sort
I second this! I know it's available if you have all your boxes in the online cattery so hopefully for the pedigree page as well, please.

RE: Pedigree sort
it only makes sense to enable this, a lot of us breed tons of cats, its annoying and vexing to me to have to spend 3 hours or so every week to enable pedi on new boxs.
I have 125 live cats not as much as the big breeders, but thats still a lot of cats per week.i have to click each pedi to find the ones i have not enabled as is.

RE: Pedigree sort
The claim is that doing so would cause excessive web traffic and probably run afoul of some throttle Linden Labs has in place.
To be honest, that's probably correct.
But the problem is solvable.
The first step would be to add another option on My Account to allow the player to set the default to "Show" from the present "Don't Show". That solves the problem for new boxes, when the record is first created in the database.
It does nothing, however, for existing cats and boxes, either for enabling, or disabling, the option.
At this point, I'd suggest is a virtual certainty everyone has a Dock. And highly likely, everyone has at least one Dock at each sim where they have cats.
So, instead of sending a web transaction per-cat, send one per-Dock/Region, and have the Dock broadcast the option.
A function could also be added to the cat's menu and, thereby, to the HUD, allowing control for individual, and all, in-world cats and boxes, as well; thereby eliminating the hassle of running to the web site, and having to wait for the existing process to get around to sending the messages to the individual cats (several second to several minutes later).

I'm assuming you're talking about the suggestion to 'mass send' the request to display pedi links for the cats when you say this. Because adding the ability to sort by 'box birth' date shouldn't affect anything in-world, which was the original request.
Personally I like the idea of defaulting it (via an option on the user account). It wouldn't solve the issue for those boxes already born, but it would help for the future!
I am curious though, if you know for sure that it actually uses some sort of 'broadcast' to the cat in-world when you check the box now. I would have assumed that the cat simply checked the DB field for updates when it did its regular 'checkin'. That would account for the variation in timing of how long it takes to actually display the link after the box is checked.

Yes.

I am not privy to the details. But I think the idea was covered elsewhere (perhaps in a Support conversation I had .. I don't recall), and the reason given was that the idea to "set all cats" was considered, and dropped, out of fear (probably rightly) that such a large number of requests coming into Second Life from a single source (a KittyCatS! server) would run afoul of some throttle on the Linden Labs network.
What I can say for sure is the processing for setting the option, per cat, involves a request from your web browser, to the KittyCatS! web server. That means the request, somehow, gets from the web server, to the cat.
As to the sorting question: I presume it's all about the Pedigree page. Boxes on the Cattery page are already time-ordered.
Of course, sorting is a bit problematic for the KittyCatS! web pages. On some web browsers, I note the page downloads sorted "in the default order" (whatever that is), then, immediately upon the page fully loading into the browser, re-sorts into name sequence; making it impossible to get back to that "Default" order.
In addition, the KittyCatS! Web pages generally do NOT "sort" on your end. Instead, they include complete copies of pre-sorted information, for each sort sequence. And, yes, that means that, for every cat you see on the screen, there's a few more copies of that information downloaded, and hidden, (slowing down the page and wasting bandwidth) in case you should happen to use another sort option.
If you're simply interested in knowing how to compare two cats, and judge (with a fair amount of certainty) which came first, I can explain it. The information you need is on your screen, you just need to know what it means and how to interpret it.
