RE: Were are all the jewels?
Having read all of these, I totally agree with 2 facts:

They are way too random 190 jewels to 150 people...in how many months? I was very happy when it came out, thought it was a great idea...completely lost interest as there is no way I could get such amount in a reasonable time (unless I only hunt them instead of the kitties and spend a lot of money).

The menagerie idea from Saga, connected or not connected to the jewels is a great one. I had to give up the cattery, like many people and just keep my super favourites because you can hold one market crash but not one every 2 months..something that would help the secondary market to survive would be veeeery helpful ( I know it's not KC business but if breeders have to give up it will also affect the oficial Kittycats).

And,nothing to do with the above, congrats on the new collection, the halloween kittens look "terrific" !! Wink

RE: Were are all the jewels?
My friend sent me a newborn kitty box. I had no idea what it was or what to do with it. I rezzed it and immediately opened it thinking it was a box to open. It had a jewel. Suck!

RE: Were are all the jewels?
Oh, jewels! -Damn, I almost forgot they exist!

I had 1 diamond and 1 ruby some time last year. -Then cut my kitty-flock down to 40, now up on 55 again, so 25+ kittens every week. No jewels.

I think only the ones with fancy-cats will get more fancy-cats (because fancy-cats make a jewel every time they make a kitten) - and because people grew ever so tired of the jewel-rush, and the fancy-eyes are no longer that new, well... I'd say the whole jewel-thing hasn't really been a success, sorry Confused
A few people invested VAST amounts of money into getting the first fancy-cats - I have no clue if their investment paid off in any way, but I would suspect not.

Unless they do something about that jewel-drop-chance, I surely won't ever get a fancy-cat. I was as exited as everyone else when they were first announced, but.... Hmm Confused

-At the same time, jewels are SO rare that most new breeders have no clue what they are! -So I expect a few ones landed up in trash along the way. I had to save a ruby from the trash can when my own mother had one with her FIRST EVER kitten! She doesn't see so well, and thought it was some stray prim from her recent re-decoration of her house :O Luckily, I came by before she thought, she meant to remove it before I came, thinking that I'd chuckle over her usual "stray prims"... ;-)

So, my suggestion: Either do something to re-ignite the excitement for the jewels / fancy-cats, or get rid of them all together, leaving those few who has one with a super-rare cat at least. Maybe THEN their investment would sort of be worth it.

RE: Were are all the jewels?
i wounder now that its 2016 if people are finding more gems because me and my lady been doing some research and we not seeing any fancies around or hearing any other breeders having it. or seeing alot of gems being sold in the secoundary market i told my lady not even waste her time trying to buy a gem or collect i think it's just something that certain breeders are awarded random throu the system for the certain time frame base how many years they breed but i could be wrong but thats what it looks like to me. and they only pass eyes and make more gems. they are very rare and beautiful i agree but the desire to have one is not really exciting because it just basically impossible.

RE: Were are all the jewels?
The place to look for jewels is in the "All about Jewels" section of the forum. There are a number of breeders who specialize in buying, trading and selling jewels. It's quiet, but the growth in the jewel market has been exponential: the more people who get jewel cats, the more jewels there are. Most people keep their fancie cats. A few make it up for resale. I have purchased a fancie cat second-hand; she was sold once she had produced all of her boxes and jewels.

RE: Were are all the jewels?
I've been breeding cats for over a year and a half. I only get about 15 kittens per week, so I don't have anywhere near as many kittens as more productive breeders. In the time that I have been breeding, I have received ONE emerald. I really like the Fancie cats, but as others have said, it's impossible to get one by just waiting for gems to show up. And, for me anyway, they are just too expensive to buy all the gems required. So, as pretty as they are, if KittyCats have intended to make them an exclusive item to only the rich people, then they have succeeded. I'm sure that sounds like "sour grapes", and I suppose that would be an accurate assessment. Nevertheless, that's just my opinion.
