RE: Were are all the jewels?
They are way too rare. I don't understand the company mindset of having something so extremely rare only people with money to burn can go around and buy them up to get a fancy cat knowing no one else can ever actually collect them. I have 100+ breeders, in all this time a single emerald lol. So in about 2 (or more) years I might have enough for a fancy cat and by that time the rich people who can afford to buy up all the jewels would have had their fancy cats for 1+ years.
Seriously.

I think maybe we're missing the obvious inference that the Fancy Cats aren't ready yet. When they -are- the random drop rate will undoubtedly increase and more people will begin getting the gems. Right now the low drop rate is to intrigue us all without landing KC in hot water with people showing up asking for a Fancy Cat that isn't finalized yet, all their jewels in their hot little hands and burning a hole in their virtual pockets.

ETA: Just wanted to point out that was a gentle joke on the fact we're all so anxious about it despite not having seen the Fancy cats yet. Our fearless creator let me know privately they're definitely ready.... But if no one has any yet, we don't need to fear falling behind right now, yeah? I have faith that when it's time, they'll execute this little bonus game with as much attention to fairness as they have the rest.

RE: Were are all the jewels?
If I understand you correct Theodore the cats are probably not finished or just finished and you talked with KC and they drop gems seldom so far as the fansy cat project wasn't finished?
Does this mean gems are to be dropped more frequent from your understanding by this convo when the project is done?
This would by the way be extremely sad for those who purchased gems for insane amounts assuming the drop of gems would remain to be this rare.
I'm happy I decided not to purchase gems at all.

The Fancy Cats are totally ready; I was just teasing. As to my opinion on drop rates picking up later, that's not from the KC staff, that's my own prediction based on my understanding of market principles and psychology. A buyer must always consider the future worth of any purchase and the dangers of assuming that anything will remain just as it is. Even a "stable market" is dynamic and will display consistent trends up and down on varying points and the jewels are something that do not yet have a clearly defined worth. Anyone buying/selling those is currently in a speculation market, and that is the riskiest kind. Hopefully those doing so know the risks and are prepared to accept them.

RE: Were are all the jewels?
Ah I understand thank you for explaining!
I agree with you how valuable these gems will be can't be told yet it is indeed psychological marketing it seems.
It might be smarter for people, if at all effortable, not to invest in gems it could turn out to be not as valuable as it came across when we first heard of them:-D
And when it is this rare I don't think I'm very interested to focus on it I rather breed happy after all KittyCats do have such an adorable breedables:-)

RE: Were are all the jewels?
How about this: For those who have already gotten a jewel, band together with 9 other people (for the diamonds), 19 others (for the rubies) and 29 others (for the Emeralds). One person gathers them all, cashes them in for the fancy kitty, then each of the contributors gets to have and love/play with the kitty for 3 days a month (diamond), and 1.5 days a month (ruby) and 1 day a month (emerald). We could have a list here on the forums saying who has what jewels, and the first 10 (diamonds) get the first Fancy, and so on... as more jewels get discovered, more will join in this system, just to have a fancy for a day. Plus, if the KittyCats folks change over to a system like Saga suggested, this would still work!!
I'd MUCH rather have this kind of system than to wait several years to even SEE one!! What do you all think?? I'll start the EMERALDS, as I just got my first one yesterday after having had about 90 kittens!

RE: Were are all the jewels?
Since I keep four to eight of just one specific breed that I am working hard perfect the way I want them perfected, just for me and my fun, I don't ever expect to see a jewel, though I do look forward to seeing what the fancies are when someone gets one.

RE: Were are all the jewels?
As time has gone on, and like many of you , the rl economy has reared its face,,, I love Kittys, I bought some insanely expensive and some not, Birthed a few I got pretty lucky on. This jewel thing has kind of turned me off. I somehow saw it as a marketing tool to birth , and yes buy more kittys. I know they are rare, but the numbers shown seem very low. Only seen for sale, to be honest, in all my box openings never got one yet.I do not think too much about them but i confess the menagerie idea has some nice merit to it.
