Oo this sounds like a wonderful idea! I keep notes on my kitties in a Cat Lover's Diary (sold in RL apparently for multi-cat owners/breeders) but obviously lose pages and forget to jot things down. Also no one else can use it. I'd love to see something like this!

“I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul.” Jean Cocteau

I don't know if anyone is still checking this thread, but I've been working on the site most of the weekend. It's a good learning experience for me! I was thinking of adding in resources pages. I'll need to see if I can get permission to link to Saga's docs and Tad's create a cat. There may be blogs out there that people might want to list. I figure I could also let people advertise classes, rentals, and auctions. But then you can do that in the forum too. Think it would be helpful or just redundant?

this is an awesome idea.... would we as breeds have to enter our cats in the data base in order for everyone to find us ... Other wise wouldn't it have to be linked to the Online catterys of Kitty cats?? .. but again i commend you on your idea!

Hi Magnum,

I am afraid I do not have access to the KittyCatS! database...just a fellow breeder. So yes, you would have to enter your cats in yourself. It would be nice if people find the page helpful, but to be honest, I do these things because they are fun learning experiences for me Smile

So trying to track my kitties and their shown and hidden traits it just makes sense that I would build another. I can build a database for myself, or I could build a (free) website to share. My vision is that users would log in, enter and track traits via drop down menus, and have the ability to make their kitties searchable if they wanted. That way, if another breeder were looking for a kitty with particular attributes, they could find a new friend who has such a kitty.

It takes a bit more work to make the website, but if you guys think it might get used it could be a fun project for me while I wait for my kitties to get all lovey!

Thoughts?

I really don't understand the chart they have now, so anything dumbed up for me is would be great.

I'd love it, I've been doing the same for myself. I'm using LibreOffice.

I've got a database built and the website lets me add cats. It's slow going but fun!
