Then it's really just best not to ask the public to vote. As I stated, it will leave a bad taste for those who had the most votes. Having a panel of private judges will be the best action moving forward.

really not sure why it would leave a bad taste in their mouth if they understood there is a 2 part vote. many contests have 2 and 3 and more part stages etc.

perhaps we need to make it more clear that there are 2 votes that are added. we thought we had!!

Then that means the judges over ruled the public majority vote. I'm sorry but that's a rigged election.

perhaps it's not clear how this works.

if there are 10 participants, the person who had the most community votes would get a score of 10 which is the MOST they can get. they are ranked highest with a score of 10.

the second highest would get a ranking of 9 or second highest.
3rd highest ranking of 8 and so forth.

then same with the panel.

top panel score gets ranked at 10
next highest votes from panel gets a 9
and so on...

so a top community vote of 10 and a 6 ranking from panel would get a score of 16 total.
A person who got ranked 7th most from the panel may have gotten 3 from the community so there score would be 10

as you can see, this really does leave it very fair as all the votes from each group are treated equally. it's more a placement that amount of votes. perhaps that explains it better?

actually no.

it's not a majority vote.

i explained it i hope better. we will make the rules even more clear next time to avoid this confusion! so very sorry. we thought people understood this when they read the rules of the contest. we will do our best to make it more clear in the future!

what is no surprise, is the discussion going on, that I did expect.
I stopped years ago to enter in contests on facebook, when voting was involved.
because it always ended up with, the same people won, since they had the same bunch of "friends" voting for them. And then the same kind of discussion started. no matter if it was private contests or contests from well known brands.

my recomendation is, no voting at all or just do not show the results, when there is a combinations with voting and a judging jury.

I love these contests because I get to see the wide creativity of the community. But for some reason this one got ugly. I hope, as in ranking the votes, that KittyCatS doesn't let one stuffed thread spoil the whole thing.

No One is questioning your design, your design was great indeed and deserved the prize. I just knew where my design stood , and that was certainly not below 5 thats all. No matter how much they try to make sense out of their decision we all know how and why they chose winners. The ones who were voted most by public were truly ignored like they were not good enough for the judges? no one is a fool. Anyways now that i realize this competition really doesnt matter to me. I was just feeling insulted for a moment. I hope you understand, but whats done is done. im just gona move on and avoid these events. i repeat im not questioning YOUR DESIGN AT ALL.
