RE: British Shorthair Cream & White - Recessivness
Cross posting this one from the AM-DC thread, as it *might* end up effecting British also...

AM-DC is recessive to Bali Chocolate.

"Sherlock" is British SH C&W shown fur, hiding AM-DC as his recessive fur.
Since the kitten has Bali Chocolate fur shown, we know he has to have at least AM-DC, Sherlock's hidden fur, as the kitten's hidden.

... and here again is the pedigree from "Sherlock's" AM-DC kitten, that proved his hidden fur to be AM-DC.

Sometimes the cats give us a quick proof. Smile
Since there is also a chance this Bali kitten is hiding British fur, he's been unpacked for testing.***

***Edit - The Oci Chocolate proof below eliminated the need to test the Bali kitten to see if he hid British (he can't), so he has been repacked.

It means for sure that Choco Bali is dominant to Aussie Dark Choco which is Sherlock's hid. dun dun dun but if that baby has Brit hid -- then Brit is totally placed! Pop pop pop that baby!

RE: British Shorthair Cream & White - Recessivness
British v Bali Choc failed to reveal hidden fur again this week, so still no idea if the choc is hiding under the British Sad
The British I suspect of hiding Snowshoe Red also decided not to pass his hidden so they all go for another round next Monday.
Its like they know we are close and are trying to frustrate us.

RE: British Shorthair Cream & White - Recessivness
Proof British Shorthair Cream & White is Dominant to Ocicat Chocolate.

'Purple Rain' (Kittycorn that hides British SH C&W) was used once again, bred to an Ocicat Chocolate female and produced the test cat with British fur shown.
Test female 2 was bred to an Aussie Snow to pull her hidden fur, which the kitten shows to be Ocicat Chocolate.

Since this proof means that Brit is also dom to Aby Black Silver and to Bali Chocolate, effectively narrowing the range to exclude those furs, both of those tests have been abandoned.

9/6 British SH x Bengal Snow Test cat (Bengal fur shown) gave me a Bengal Kitten today -- did not reveal the hidden recessive, so we go another week with that one.

Yay! Great job, Happy! I'll go update the lists. also this means that British Shorthair and Aussie Dark Choco no longer overlap in their ranges
