When I first started kittycats at the end of 2013, the forum was very helpful in learning things and I went back pretty far in reading the threads. Something may seem average or boring to someone who has been doing it for awhile but can be new information for a newbie. Certain sections, like the sales, rentals or trades are very time sensitive so perhaps those should have a time frame where they are automatically deleted by the system. Although even these sections have some use as new people can start to get an idea of what people are looking for and price ranges and how these have changed over time.

While I agree with you I feel also people should have the freedom to decide what happens with their thread if it is for example a sales thread.
Otherwise posting here is too permanent I feel it should be part of the personal freedom and privacy of the OP to delete their sales threads in specific.
Such threads shouldn't have to be there for ever I think.
And we can alter original post with only dots anyway so it has really no use to take away this freedom from us.
Personally I noticed by this change I barely use the sales section anymore while before I did and try to only post things from which I think I want to keep here for ever which is very long already.
