Perma-pet120 a sick cat?

I tried a search for this question and didn't find it. If I want to perma-pet120 a cat I've had in my inventory for awile but rezzed and updated, do I need to wait for it to get well or will perma-petting take care of that? The reason I asked is I've noticed sometimes it's a problem to perma-pet another type of breedable when it's sick and I ended up having to get support to replace it for it to wake up, so just wanted to make sure it's not a problem with Kittycats.
