The place to add the option would be your options page .. right where you already have the options to show box gender in the Pedigree and Cattery, and to allow others to browse previous generations of your cats.

Also, unless the system is completely redesigned, setting the option should NOT effect existing cats and boxes in-world (only those newly ariving in-world from birth, dock, bottle, whatever).

That would be three options on the My Account page. I can think of several more which really should be there. So, it would also be time to split My Account into tabs (or whatever) to clean up the developing mess there.
