A persistent complaint is that new traits lose value too quickly. Shortening the initial breeding period would hasten that, causing new traits to lose value even more quickly.
Some design decisions were made. A number of factors were weighed, and they set it at a 7-day lead-in, and a 113-day effective life: removing your cats from the breeding game at 121 days of age.
If you support removing the 7-day lead-in, and don't mind the deleterious effects upon pricing and markets, I trust you'll also support maintaining the 113-day effective life span by shortening the too-old limit from 121 to 114 days.
It's only fair.
