This only applies if the Starter is a Box which has ever appeared in-world, or in the Cattery. For accuracy, "Originally produced" should read "was first rezzed in-world, or first appeared in the Cattery."

I could have read it wrong, but I was assuming he meant starters like the Lazy Dayzies... even after being updated, they'll still hide a Gerbera Eye and Porcelain Shade (although I tend to call these traits "limited edition" and not "retired" but that's more to categorize them in my own brain; not everyone does that).
