I don't understaaaand!!
I think I've started to get my head around this breeding lark and then this happens..........
? New Born Kitten
Fur: Abyssinian - Black Silver
MOM: Maxie = Balinese - Seal Lynx
Maxie's parents :-
= Balinese - Seal Lynx - both parents Balinese - Seal Lynx
= Balinese - Seal Lynx - both parents Balinese - Seal Lynx
DAD: Layton = Bengal - Snow
Layton's parents :-
= Bengal - Snow.........parents - Russian - Black + Russian - White
= Snowshoe - Bluepoint.........parents = Snowshoe - Bluepoint + Snowshoe - Bluepoint
Where does Abyssinian - Black Silver come from??
It IS dominant to Balinese - Seal Lynx. But presumably as the Balinese is a pure line it could have held it's own against a coat more dominant.
BUT Bengal - Snow IS dominant to it...and so is Snowshoe - Bluepoint AND both types of Russian - so why not one of those coats?
I'm confused @!@ and hoping the brilliant minds of the forum can help this poor newbie figure stuffs out.
