It's a good time to explain what a proof is
A proof is a mathematically perfect proof where the possibility of it being correct is 100%. There can be no other alternative and it is 100% certain.
As Sara said, solid, unless proven pure is mostly an auction term. It means solid to five generations that we can read. It does not mean pure or 100% certain. If a trait is Pure it means it is certain with no other possibility. It's rare to see pure traits, when I see them in a pedigree I explain them at auction.
In the charts only a perfect proof is accepted.
