Lightbulb Instead of "Stop Unpack" how about a pause button?
Why would we want to just stop unpack what if we wanted to pause incase we have to leave sl and dont want them wandering or having to search for our tiny kitties? Just a thought sure its been said before Angel

I vote for both options,...
Too frequently I have a change of heart when I start to unpack or unpack the wrong one and see that just in time.
I love the pause option suggestion in addition to stop unpack much though!
So this has my vote Smile

Do you really need a "Pause" button?

What would happen if you changed prim mode? It seems to me that, if you're allowed to do so, that should pretty well stop openning the box.

But, if the concern is that you can't wait the few minutes, and want to stop the clock, simply taking the box into inventory for a while, say while you're off to work or dinner, would do the trick.

Would that work? Dunno. Has anyone tried it?

Taking it into you inventory does stop the timer at least it always has in the past before we had the option it was what I would do when I noticed a mistake when opening.

RE: Instead of "Stop Unpack" how about a pause button?
Charm's comment to me was about the desire to even out the workflow. Her example involved cats with differing wait times when unpacking. The desire is to be able to start the process, go off to do something else, and come back after a set period to continue your work.

To me, this does not speak so much to the need for a pause button as to the silliness of having some cats take so long, and others take others. Sure, it's a game and you're suppose to know and follow the rules. But I always have a problem with arbitrary rules whose sole purpose is to trip people up. I know it's been hashed and rehashed, so let's not do it here, but, to me, there is absolutely NO reason to make people wait when opening a box. But, if you're going to enforce the silly rule, at least do so consistently!

Hm, yes taking in inventory should do the pause job indeed.
@ Tad not sure why they want us to wait to unpack but at least it is better than the 30 minutes it was.
I think it is a psychology based rule I guess that makes them so klingy on the waiting game.
Does not work for me though I never wait Smile

RE: Instead of "Stop Unpack" how about a pause button?
When I've taken a box into inventory during unpacking it resets the clock. So it's kind of like a stop unpack instead of pause.
With the wait time so short (yes - I think 15 minutes is short now compared to the original 30!) I don't think a pause is needed. Instead I would love to have an "instant unpack" option if you are absolutely sure you want to unpack that box. Even if there is some behind the scenes reason for the unpack time (if the box has to connect to the server or something else) an option to have the 5 minute unpack like we have on the limited edition kitties instead of an instant open would be great.

Hm,... I just tested it and took a box which was busy to unpack in inventory and it didn't reset the timer after rezzing it again.
Maybe after an extended time or when relogged?
We can do this in three unwrap sessions so it ultimately only takes 5 minutes per session anyway XD

Hmmm Kayleigh maybe this changed with an update or maybe mine was glitched. I remember starting an unpack, then about 15 minutes into it picking the kitty up and moving to another sim to finish the unpack and it started all over at 30 minutes again. I remember feeling so frustrated that it restarted! If that's changed and it just pauses when you pick it up that's great!
