RE: Toyger Silver
Current testing range

Proven recessive to Australian Mist - Blue Marble
Tonkinese - Blue Mink
Burmilla Red Silver Shaded
Burmilla Chocolate Silver Shaded
Australian Mist Charcoal
Toyger - Caramel

However, I'd advise testing against blue mink and red burma first if you are doing it for dominance testing purposes--although this early in the game, most people are just trying to get it to show on a box. If it is dominant to either of those, it's proven. However if it is recessive to Red Burma, it will have to be proven dominant to Choco Burma. Right now while there is a preponderance of evidence that it is dominant to Choco Burma, there is not a definitive proof chart (like a hid popping against Caramel Toyger or old ancestors of Choco Burma so has to be before Caramel Toyger or Charcoal Aussie were introduced. Popping the hid is the best of course: no history lesson needed and some people prefer the math of genetics to historical dates).

And Eleanor, just for the record, I do think your Choco Burms are pure but proofs are a show-me thing so beliefs don't count. But asking you to post enough charts to show they predate the Toyger and Aussie, is a lot of trouble. Easier to wait until someone pops a hid because a lot of the Toyger Silvers are going to have Choco Burms hid. It's probably going to be a chart with 2 Toyger Silver parents make a Choco Burm child.

RE: Toyger Silver
I've got a suitable 9T Toyger-Caramel girl (eyes that will work with his fur if he passes the silver) who will be old enough next week. I'll try him with her then.

That would be awesome Eleanor. Although I have no doubts at all that yours, Tess's & Dotties Silvers were all pulled with pure Burmilla Chocs, having that chart for future evidence should it prove to sit between the Red & Choc would be fantastic and so much simpler Smile
Much easier to pop into Kaylas awesome library of proofs as well Smile

Reposting inline for you
[Image: 1dca7c8a72569f47409cdc9b30b437b5.png]

at 201 days old the Burmilla chocs Dad, and therefore his older Mum, predate the release of the Halloween Collections and the discovery of Toyger Caramel, 200 days ago from today April 25th 2017 was 8th October 2016, both cats box opening predates that so therefore birth of the boxes also predates that making them pure. Fall Collections were released Oct 19th.
I think this will satisfy even the most ardant doubter that Burmilla Chocolate is indeed recessive to Toyger - Silver as at the time your Chocs parents were born it was the most recessive fur.
It might be helpful if you can post Berkeleys Pedigree as well as absolute proof that according to age of the line he is pure.

RE: Toyger Silver
Thanks thats perfect, it confirms the age of the line and that it predates discovery and indeed release of anything more recessive.

RE: Toyger Silver
Thanks for the proof and additional pedigree info TheGreatKane.
The Forum based charts have been updated to reflect the new range of Toyger - Silver. It now requires testing against Tonkinese - Blue Mink and Burmilla - Red Silver Shaded. Smile
