Breeding question: Proximity

Hello, I was just wondering if once two cats are hooked up with each other and waiting for the numbers to be at the right level for the kitten box to appear ...

Do they have to be in proximity to each other or on the same parcel?

I have two cats that are "mated" but the boy cat is tired and out of love. He will get the right numbers before the paring expires, but I want to move him to my store which is a separate parcel in the same region.

Will the breeding fail if boy cat is at the store while the mother stays with me?

If they are partnered, being on the same parcel is close enough. Only un-partnered cats (same owner) still require that the cats be within over-lapping range to produce a box.

That said, what I'd do is simply bring the pair onto the same parcel after both have reached proper stats. You don't need to have both of them there until they are ready and you want that box.

Since the last update, partnered cats just have to be on the same sim to breed.

if not mistaken its sim wide now! I have kitties on two different parcels same sim! and had them produce a box!

With the 1.56 update in Oct 2016 Cats that are partnered now just have to be on the same sim.
