Question Genesis Birthday Furs
I was wondering from a breeder perspective if it is possible to consider to just update the current genesis furs for the KittyCatS birthdays to come while they remain to have the same order as for dominance.
Basically just an update on the fur but not so much where they stand as for recessiveness.
For breeders this is kind of inconvenient to be honest.
It is hard to figure out what the dominance order of the Genesis furs are in relation to eachother let alone compaired to the different other generations of Genesis furs.
Especially so since it isn't normal practice to breed starters with eachother so we may never find out while as point of reference their dominance order is very important to know.
We need this information to breed our starters as good as possible.

For future birthdays, and I hope there are plenty to come, it would be fantastic if you would consider to only update the looks of the furs.

Thank you for considering a different approach :-)

P.S. I see how each birthday is a milestone and should be celebrated to the max so I completely understand you change their looks Smile

RE: Genesis Birthday Furs
Respectfully disagree. The only thing I would like to see is an official statement that all this-year's Genesis traits, that is Fur and Eye, specifically, are guaranteed dominant to last-year's versions and next-year's will all be dominant to this-year's, etc. That, or an official statement that this is not the case.

As to determining the proper order of each new set: to must of us it matters little since we don't breed starter-to-starter very often. A better solution would be for more experienced breeders to point newer ones to Saga's list when they breed starter-to-starter and produce a usable result.

RE: Genesis Birthday Furs
For what it's worth (and I can't find the note now in Saga's chart), my theory, after having worked with Gen II and Gen I crosses, is that all Genesis II furs are dominant to the original Genesis furs, Tad. Just have a look at the "grey column" by the genesis fur cells in Saga's chart showing individual I & II relationships.

Trying to figure things out is a big part of the fun of breeding for me.

Sounds like a good idea as well Smile
Because I'm fighting a Lazy (Gen I) at the moment with a Gen III don't ask me why because the answer I don't fully know myself LOL
Call it a sentimental traits trip.
But knowing what you suggest would help a lot already.

*Dreams of a Pandie or an other newer (released after the Lazy's) fur with a pure Porcelain Shade & unknown Gerbera eyes

So yes I'm the sucker who breeds a starter with a starter XD
Gen to an other Gen because I want the outcome as for the fur to be a surprise :-)
It is an extremely unneeded breeding activity but I don't care I just like to do this as I love surprises Smile
This project brought me to this suggestion because breeding starter to starter might be totally uneffective but it is fun though I think.
