Do all "primed" cats need to eat?

Hi, I have a lot of cats out and was thinking about putting a few in "image" mode to save on food since my partner and I have so many. Ihave the most.. But, Is there a way to put them up with out feeding them? Such as "Image" or other???

The primary consideration is: are you breeding the cats?

The cats will eat in full prim mode, or 2d, or as a low prim basket mode or in Cattery.
If you are not breeding the cats then you should turn "breed" off on their menu and they will eat half as much.

The cats will not eat in inventory, but they will get hungry, and after a few days, be sick. They can always recover from that either gradually with 7 days of food or with one of the store vitamins.

It sounds to me as if you need to be judicious about which cats or how many cats you really want to breed, and, if you aren't breeding them, you may want to rotate them in and out of inventory as pets.
