RE: Nitpicking
yes, this is a very odd thing. That's one of the first things I grasped about breeding; one shown and one hidden. No more than that. Hopefully the idea of multiple hiddens is just a misunderstanding that has worked it's way through the community at some point and will be corrected through the great classes, etc. mentioned. Otherwise, it could be deliberate misleading or just plain wishful thinking. Once the person has been corrected and continues to say the same things, however, indicated more nefarious intentions.
Misnaming is, imho, much more rampant. I have seen it all from Bali Seals being named "Hiding Foxie Auburn!" to, recently, "New Fur Bengal Tawny!" when the cat was actually a Chateau Tawny and White. Kudos to those who attempt to contact the seller and either politely educate them or reprimand them. Unfortunately there just isn't enough virtual time or virtual people to police this problem so it remains that all new people should be warned that this is a buyer beware, unfortunately, market and consult with a trusted breeder before spending large sums on a kitty reported to be hiding something magically wonderful and exiciting.
