I am just doing hiders for an auction and realised I had stumbled across a proof that Chai Latte is recessive to Toyger Tan:
As you can see from the image, Powder hid Chai Latte from Rae, which has now pulled forward
If I'm looking at this right, this kitten could hide Foxie - Dusty Slate or something more recessive. If Dusty Slate is hiding, that would narrow the range a bit. I hope the new owner pulls the hidden and lets us know!
I reached out to Lexi and Kat about this, and they both agreed that Chai Latte is recessive to the Balinese Chocolate Lynx. So, here's the proof I sent to them both. If anyone needs to see back any farther, please let me know! (Also, if anyone can tell me how to make the pictures bigger in the forums, that'd be helpful. Mine are always the tiny ones! Thanks!)
This proof is valid as the father, Pink Pony club shows burmilla chocolate caramel. He must be hiding from Ladybug, the chimera black grey.
THe chai latte is dominant to chimera black grey so it can't be hiding on Ladybug.
As a cat can only have two copies of each trait, one from mum, one from dad, then it is impossible that dad could also hide the Chai latte.
So the chai latte must have been hiding beneath the Balinese chocolate lynx making it recessive to the Bali choco.
