I noticed some eye colors and such are retired. Would this make it more valuable or no?

Retired simply means you can't purchase a starter, or special collection, cat which carries that trait.

Whether it's more valuable as a result is an open question. Some probably are. Some may be in the future. Some may never be. Value is a highly personal thing, even when discussing financial value in markets, so there is will never be a clear-cut answer.
