Heart Thank you for preserving all traits
I checked the statistics of the different traits on Torgon (There is a page for that there) against the traits lists on the dominance order document, and found that not a singe trait is not on the market.
Some are listed very few times, but still there. Only some of the very new traits are missing but that is natural.

I was impressed and I had to share this. Thank you for everyone who has been preserving retired traits Heart. I think I will try to contribute to that soon. I do not wish to see any trait completely gone from the market.

My checking if they are all available?
I pulled the lists from Torgon's statistics page and the lists from the dominance chart and pasted them in an excel file, sorted them with name, then could see if they matched or not. The mismatching was for unplaced traits, so I added or removed rows when needed to see if the rest matches. This way, I didn't have to check each trait individually.
Didn't take so long to be honest Big Grin.

RE: Thank you for preserving all traits
Thank you Sara! I have wondered. I have pulled some kittens recently to bring some of them back for a few projects of mine. lol Figured I would open all my old collection kittens. Not sure what traits are hiding but I do know they are old ones. I think it's great to know they are still out there.

You are welcome Heart
It is great what you plan to do. While they are still out there, some are in small numbers, so it would help if we breed them again.

RE: Thank you for preserving all traits
One of the first projects I formally undertook in KittyCats was to collect at least one of every single trait - genesis or otherwise. To me, one of the most fun things is to take out a trait that I haven't bred in years, and match it with some newer traits to bring it back into circulation. It's also advantageous to have a good selection of "traited up" older traits from up and down the domininance levels, in order to move traits around. I use my favorite combinations on highly domininant furs (or whatever trait I'm working with), and repeat that combination on favorite furs, etc., at various levels on the dominance charts. This way, I have cats traited the way *I* like waiting to help "trait up" new traits, while simultaneously adding new traits to my favorite lines.

RE: Thank you for preserving all traits
Back when I was looking for all the retired genesis furs, some weren't listed. I ended up getting a coco by visiting every shop inworld that claimed to sell kitten boxes. Retired dominant traits (especially genesis ones) can be at risk, as they can't hide under anything if they go out of fashion.

I do the same even now. I've gotten to a point of doing a "most dominant" and "super recessive" lines. Keeping both going during breeding season to bring in new traits as they are listed. I love some of the new traits to trait up my old lines but it can be challenging to get just one new trait that I want to put on my old and/or more dominant lines without all the more recessive ones when they come out.

RE: Thank you for preserving all traits
Retired/older/dominant traits are always important to have in your cattery. Retired (or limited) traits are so useful for collector and starter kitties, dominant traits to help make something solid. It seems there is such a rush to get to the most recessive that the challenge of breeding something more dominant is lost. I have a few solid lines of old/retired/limited trait kitties including genesis furs that I have traited up, and some with genesis eyes. They are all important to the history of KittyCats.
