Suggestion: Adjustable petting animations

I'm a dinkie and when I try to pet my kitties I usually end up too far from them or even down under ground....I was wondering if maybe it would be possible to have a menu or a keyboard key to adjust the height of the avatar animations while petting the kitties please?
