I agree, the draconian restrictions on viewing Pedigrees is a problem.
To me, you should be able to view the Pedigree for *any* cat you have owned, even if you did not breed it, produced no offspring, and no longer own it.
Implementing that, though, may be too much to ask of the database; technically, it's easily do-able, but the storage requirements can grow exponentially large and THAT could cause performance issues and, possibly, exceed the limits of MySQL requiring migration to Oracle.
In addition, there should be a Roster page which shows them all. But that would need a completely different page: the current design requires sending the entire list, two or three times per page (which is why it's so slow for some breeders). That could be done, too, but requires something KittyCatS, long ago, stated they would never implement: an API.
