Reposting Aubreygraces pedigree

It does indeed indicate dom to Grey Matter but unfortunately we can't know from what we see that the Grey Matter is pure, its the result of a double hidden pull and we can't know both its parents hid Grey Matter.
The best way to confirm will be to pull the Grey Matter using a more recessive eye. Unless you have proof both the Greys parents did indeed hide it. Maybe if you shared the pedigree for the Grey Matter Ivy or I can take a look and see for you Smile

I don't own the grey matter's parents. But this is the pedigree

In somewhat unrelated news, my Magic Reef versus Starry Ocean Blues test resulted in Unidentical twins, each one showing a different eye.

That's 2 tester boxes to open. Both have the chance of hiding grey matter eye.
I will be running versus Dreamy Oasis. With some luck we might get both a Starry Ocean Blues proof and a Grey Matter proof at the same time.

Not sure if this can help at all.

We already knew that the eye is recessive to Galaxy Lava. It is a good proof for that and congratulations on getting the Magic Reef eye.
The current testing range is recessive to Dreamy Mirage.

Thanks Ivy! I have the baby mated with a solid rock turquoise *crosses fingers*

Just more grey mater vs magic reef

RE: New magic reef eye - Ivy Norsk - 11-15-2020 09:00 AM

Aubrey, what we need is to see a pull of the Grey Matter out from under a Magic Reef, like with a Dreamy Oasis.
I know people are pulling the eye with Grey Matter, that's kind of functional. But for a Proof, we need to see it come out from under. Because the other alternative, proof of purity on the Grey Matter requires that we go way back to when Grey Matter is discovered or see a place in the pedigrees where the Grey Matter is pulled "pure" out from under a controlled backbreed or sibling breed where we can track the hiddens on the breed. It's a hard thing to do.
It is much easier to pull the hidden.
Almost always.

Yes Ivy, I am AWARE. I am not stupid like you keep implying. I was just showinga pedigree. I'll stop posting if it's such a bother.Sorry for the trouble.

Don't want to step on any toes here, but I don't believe that was what she was implying. Both of your posts are informative and I appreciate that. Figuring it all out can be tricky, especially for newer breeders. Every little bit of info can help paint the big picture.
